"The Army Heritage Center Foundation is pleased to announce Mary Gasper as the first recipient of the Robert L. Ruth and Robert C. Ruth History Internship Endowment. The endowment was established by Foundation Board member, Christopher Gleason, in recognition of the Army service of Mr. Gleason's father-in-law and brother-in-law. Robert L. Ruth is a WWII veteran and Robert C. Ruth served in Vietnam. Attending the ceremony initiating the endowment were members of the Ruth and Gleason families; General Edward Meyer, USA (R), former Army Chief of Staff; Mr. Games Adair, Chair of the Foundation's board and other Board and staff members.
The endowment supports the annual summer internship of a history student enrolled at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Gasper, a resident of Chambersburg, devoted 120 hours a the Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle, PA to research, transcribe and edit materials related to the Foundation's educational activities that support Army Heritage and Education Center programs and exhibits."
