"The Directors and membership of the 454th Bombardment Group Association overwhelmingly approved a $5,000 donation to the Army Heritage Center Foundation (AHCF). The fight supports the AHCF in the mission to encourage students to study the history of the United States Army.

The AHCF will use the 454th Bombardment Group Association donation to establish an endowment fund to award an annual prize for the best student research paper on Army history written by a current U. S. Army War College student. At the same time, the endowment fund and annual award will perpetuate the memory of the 454th Bombardment Group. Each year, the prize will be awarded by the AHCF in the name of the 454th Bombardment Group Association.
