"Tom Wess, Charitable Foundation Coordinator from M&T Bank, presented a $7,000 check to the Army Heritage Center Foundation (AHCF) Board of Directors at their quarterly meeting on May 4, 2007. This donation from the M&T Charitable Foundation represents the fourth payment toward the $35,000 pledge that M&T made to the AHCF to support the Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle, PA.
M&T Bank has a long history of charitable support and a tradition of taking an active role in the communities that they serve. As a community bank, M&T understands that their success is linked to the health and well-being of the community and community organizations. The donation made to the AHCF demonstrates M&T Bank's commitment to enriching the community by supporting educational and cultural organizations and programs.
The purpose of the AHCF is to advance the ability of the Army Heritage and Education Center to honor the heritage of the U.S. Army through the collection, preservation, and study of the collected memories of Soldiers and related artifacts, photographs, and other documents. The Army Heritage and Education Center strives to foster a greater public awareness of the Army's contributions to the nation in peace and war.
The AHCF is conducting a $20 million capital campaign to construct the Visitor and Education Center, a key component of the Army Heritage and Education center campus, and to create an endowment to sustain educational programs. Private donations, such as the pledge made by M&T Charitable Foundation, will help make the mission of the AHCF possible."
