Researcher-for-Hire
The Army Heritage Center Foundation offers a Researcher-for-Hire service to conduct research at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center. Independent-contract researchers are vetted by the Foundation.
Preliminary Assessment – Fee: $75.00 payable in advance.
A preliminary assessment encompasses an initial search of the research catalog, creating an index of reference bibliographies, and finding collection inventories and other research aides. The assessment includes:
- Up to 2 hours of initial research
- Summary responding to the specific research inquiry
- Up to 10 pages of document reproduction
- Completion within two weeks
Advanced Research – Fee: $40.00/hour; payment for half of estimated hours due in advance.
Advanced research first requires a preliminary assessment (described above). Advanced research hours and a timeline are negotiated between the client and researcher. Completed research is provided upon receipt of final payment and reproduction charges.
Note: Reproduction charges are additional in accordance with the Center’s Reading Room Fee Structure. Fees to support news organizations or others requiring reduced timelines are subject to negotiation.
